We’re planning NYABF 2022 with renewed energy and intention. Our foremost goals are to continue to provide a platform for artists’ book publishers through visibility and distribution, to create opportunities for conversation and exchange, and to nurture new and long-standing relationships.
The Fair represents a broad range of artists and collectives, small presses, institutions, galleries, antiquarian booksellers, and distributors. Exhibitors will be selected based on the strength of the materials submitted through the application. We seek to expand representation with a focus on identity, geography, scale of publishing operations, and through the welcoming of first-time exhibitors to our Fair.
Note that in the new location the Fair will be reduced in scale compared to our most recent productions. We are aiming to present approximately 160 exhibitors alongside programs and special projects, some in coordination with neighboring organizations. Keeping this in mind, we encourage applicants to emphasize new work and/or inventory and share generous responses about their interest in participating.
Brown Recluse Zine Distro, Taller California, Kwago, and Further Reading Press are the inaugural Volume Grant Recipients for NYABF 2022.
Revista Balam, KWY Ediciones, FAR NEAR, and Matarile Ediciones are this year's recipients of the Shannon Michael Cane Award for NYABF 2022.
